“ We stopped here for dinner one evening and were pleasantly surprised. There's plenty parking and seating indoors. Their service was very quick too and our server very pleasant. We started with beer and the tamarind drink with beef empanadas and tostones. For the main course we got the mofongo con pollo (chicken) and stewed ox tail. All of them were spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had plenty leftovers. ”
“ Really loved the food. The service is actually really good. People leave bad reviews because the culture is different and a lot of people don't go out to eat and expect fast service. Mofongo was crispy and moist at the same time. Loved everything about it. ”
“ This place was recommended to us by a local standing behind us in the grocery store. I was initially disappointed that they no longer serve the empanadas that I'd seen in so many reviews, but the food was very good. Giant portions and delicious rice. The rice seems to be seasoned in a similar fashion to a. Delicious poke bowl. Just the right amount of salt and possibly some oil. Pork was well cooked. Husband liked the shrimp sauce. Really good experience. ”
“ WOW in dire need of a tasty home cooked meal while away from california and my team and I stumbled across a tiny lit up restaurant across the street. we were all skeptical about how are meal would taste or if we had picked the right place to eat, and all our worries disappeared after a few bites. I ordered the roast pork with plantains and it came with a salad as well (sort of just veggies). the roasted pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned phenomenally. the plantains tasted more savory than i remember any plantains but it was perfect with the ketchup mayo sauce they had. the plantains and sauce reminded me almost of a classic french fry and ketchup taste. I was super happy with my meal and I think if I returned to USVI, i'd stop here before anywhere else ”
“ I really like this place! The food servings were good portions, the service was on point, and very attentive. While the ambiance is ok, I really appreciate the home feel environment with everyone speaking Spanish and greeting each other. The food was very tasty, the chicken soup was amazing, the steak with onions was good too. Rice and beans were well cooked!! Definitely a treat!! ”
“ The appetizers where very good shrimp had very crispy crust and the garlic sauce was great. The chicken kabobs where served in a delicious sauce with red and green bells. The main dishes where great!! Pork chops served with red and green bells and beautiful not spicy red sauce with side of rice and side salad and side of beans. Roasted chicken tasted like it had been in grandmas oven roasting all day Shrimp Alfredo was loaded with shrimp and pasta was cooked perfect. The whole snapper was very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waitress we had was by herself with 5 tables and she crushed it. Drinks never empty and every question about the menu answered. The inside of the restaurant had a very nice walk up 3-sided bar and 12 tables. Very relaxed feeling very home like. Enjoyed our meal very much ”
“ Finally, my first full meal of the day!! It did not disappoint! I ordered the chicharron De Pollo, which comes with 1 side. I actually got the rice, beans, salad, AND the tostones! Hubby ordered the baked chicken and rice only. The food is very much what I'm accustomed to - being so close to Puerto Rico. Both chicken dishes had amazing flavor and was cooked very well. The rice was PERFECT!!!! We loved it all!! I'll just have to deal with the MSG later. The fruit punch was more of a slightly thick strawberry drink. Not the fruit punch I was thinking. It was just okay. I'd definitely return! Need to walk out of now. ”
“ Came here for lunch while in the USVI; an employee of a place we were at recommended we come eat here. The place was pretty much walking distance to where we were at the time. This place was great! We came in and literally was the only table; so that made ordering and what not a breeze. Our waitress was really nice; took our order and checked in here and there. Kept our drinks full. The food was amazing. My husband got a grilled shrimp dish that was really good! I got the stewed oxtail which was perfectly executed. It was soooooo good. If I ever revisit this area I definitely would come back to eat here. ”
“ 4.5, rounding up because of that pork dish. This isn't fine dining or anything by any stretch. But we enjoyed the entire experience, from the family-friendly, locals-centric atmosphere, to the friendly service, and of course the spectacular cuisine- which is where I'll start. That heretofore mentioned pork entree... It's just a thing of beauty. I haven't had anything quite like it. It's like a combination of porchetta and lechon. In any case, if you like pork, like I like pork (and I know you do), this is the dish for you. They also make a mean oxtail and some pretty decent fried chicken legs, among other excellent dishes we had here. If it were up to me I would've licked the plates- "ahem, have some decorum," said my dining companion. "Fine, whatever," says me. Anyways, you get the idea. I think we should introduce a new food category for places like this: "fine casual". There... you heard it here first! p.s. I still licked the plate on the sly ;)... ”
